Reimagined Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro to Greet Spokane

Spokane, Wash. (February 26, 2020) —Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro has upgraded its Kendall Yards’ location overlooking the Spokane River this spring. The upgrade will see the award-winning Washington wine producer spotlight the accessibility of its wines through new, energized personnel and an elevated restaurant program.

Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro first landed in Spokane in 2017. Opening an Eastern Washington location had been a longtime goal of owners and Spokane natives Craig and Vicki Leuthold. The new name and operation bring bistro elements to all four of Maryhill Winery’s Washington locations in Goldendale, Spokane, Vancouver, Woodinville, a brand-wide upgrade launched in October of 2019. The Spokane outpost, just a short stroll from downtown, remains in its original location. Late last year, Maryhill Winery debuted a new kitchen with a flavor-packed bistro menu, and has recently added some talented new faces.

The hospitality shift introduces accomplished and enthusiastic new staff members. Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro welcomes Chef David Hill to its kitchen for a menu inspired equally by the Mediterranean and the Pacific Northwest. Hill commanded cuisine at his previous restaurant, Hill’s Restaurant & Lounge, also in Spokane. The beloved culinary mind has been featured on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and was dubbed “Captain Complexity” by host Guy Fieri.

Hill is a Culinary Institute of America graduate who spent a quarter-century running his eponymous former restaurant in downtown Spokane. The menu at Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro will feature locally sourced ingredients and the work of regional farmers, producers, chocolatiers and more. Dishes will play off of and enhance Maryhill’s extensive list of food-friendly wines.

More new energy arrives in the form of manager Michael Blair. With three decades of hospitality work to his name, Blair lands at Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro after restaurant management roles at places like Wolfgang Puck Food Company, The Ritz-Carlton and Walt Disney World Resort. Joining Hill and Blair is Kristoffer Jamison, an accomplished bartender who previously worked at Portland’s Four Diamond properties, The Heathman and Benson Hotels.

“Our wines are built to not only impress the wine lover, but to bring people together and attract more people to the craft,” says Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro founder Craig Leuthold. “There’s no better way to showcase our wines’ welcoming nature than through an expertly run tasting bar and restaurant, commanded by great people with decades of experience in lauded dining establishments all over the globe.”

Visitors can expect an approachable yet refined tasting and dining experience, with new, cozier chairs and bistro-styled tables. Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro is set to raise the bar in a town increasingly known for its culinary prowess. With live music, a river-facing balcony, decorated wines and an impressive new crew commanding the floor, Maryhill has positioned itself to offer the Spokane community the kind of quality and commitment that’s garnered the brand so many awards and recognition over the years.
